PlayQuort Competition Open Play Terms and Safety Policy

Effective: August 19, 2026 · Version 1.0

These Competition Open Play Terms apply when a venue owner or authorized organizer creates, publishes, manages, or participates in a Competition Open Play session through PlayQuort. They supplement the PlayQuort Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, Booking Policy, venue-specific rules, and the competition rules displayed for the session.

1. Competition organizer

Unless PlayQuort expressly identifies itself as the organizer of a specific event, the competition is organized and operated by the venue owner or other organizer identified on the competition page. The organizer is independent from PlayQuort and is responsible for the organizer-controlled parts of the event.

2. PlayQuort's role

PlayQuort provides technology services that may include event listing, registration, reservation, payment processing for the PlayQuort reservation fee, participant records, queue or check-in tools, notices, and incident-reporting support. Unless expressly stated otherwise for a particular event, PlayQuort does not act as the venue operator, referee, tournament director, coach, medical provider, security provider, or prize provider.

3. Organizer authority and responsibilities

An organizer who creates or publishes a competition confirms that they are authorized to conduct the event at the selected venue. The organizer is responsible for competition format, eligibility, rules, schedules, participant management, officiating or referee arrangements, venue operations, safety procedures, emergency procedures, advertised prizes, and compliance with applicable permits, licenses, taxes, consumer requirements, and other laws.

The organizer must provide accurate and non-misleading information and must not advertise a prize, benefit, rule, qualification, or service that the organizer cannot lawfully provide or honor.

4. Competition rules

Participants must be shown the applicable competition rules before joining. Rules may cover skill or age eligibility, format, scoring, schedules, equipment, substitutions, withdrawals, tie-breaks, disqualification, conduct, and other event-specific requirements.

Material rules accepted by participants should not be silently changed after participant, payment, or game history exists. If a material correction is necessary, the organizer should provide clear notice and PlayQuort may require renewed acceptance where appropriate.

5. Participant eligibility and conduct

Participants are responsible for providing accurate eligibility information and complying with the published competition rules and lawful venue instructions. Cheating, intentional result manipulation, harassment, threats, violence, discriminatory abuse, deliberate interference with matches, fraudulent registration, or other serious misconduct may result in removal from the event and possible PlayQuort account action.

6. Sports participation and safety risk

Pickleball, tennis, and other racket or court sports involve ordinary physical risks that may include falls, slipping, collisions, heat exposure, dehydration, overexertion, muscle or joint injury, and contact with balls, paddles, rackets, nets, equipment, walls, surfaces, or other participants. Participants should act according to their abilities and follow venue and organizer safety instructions.

A risk acknowledgment does not waive or remove any liability or legal right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Venue operators and organizers remain responsible for duties imposed on them by applicable law.

7. Emergencies and medical concerns

PlayQuort's incident-reporting tools are not emergency services. In an emergency, participants or organizers should contact the appropriate emergency, medical, police, fire, venue, or local authority service without waiting for a response from PlayQuort.

8. Entry fees, PlayQuort reservation fee, and venue balance

An organizer may set a per-player entry fee. Under the current beta payment model, a paid Competition Open Play may require the player to pay the applicable PlayQuort reservation fee first, currently equal to five percent (5%) of the displayed per-player entry fee where that payment flow is used. The remaining balance is payable directly to the venue or organizer and is not held by PlayQuort.

Free competitions do not require a PlayQuort reservation-fee payment. Joining a waitlist does not guarantee a place, and a promoted waitlisted player may be required to complete payment before the registration becomes confirmed.

9. Cancellations, withdrawals, and refunds

Competition-specific cancellation, withdrawal, no-show, replacement-player, and refund conditions must be clearly disclosed where applicable. Participant-initiated withdrawals may be non-refundable after a disclosed cutoff where permitted by law.

If an organizer cancels a paid competition, rejects a registration after PlayQuort collected its reservation fee, or cannot provide the advertised event because of an organizer-controlled issue, the PlayQuort reservation fee should be eligible for appropriate review and refund where required by the applicable policy or law. Money paid directly to the venue or organizer must ordinarily be refunded or otherwise resolved by that venue or organizer because PlayQuort did not receive or hold those funds.

10. Prizes and awards

Unless the competition page expressly states that PlayQuort is the prize provider or sponsor, prizes, awards, giveaways, discounts, trophies, cash benefits, products, or similar incentives are offered and fulfilled by the organizer. The organizer is responsible for eligibility terms, availability, delivery, and applicable promotion, tax, permit, and consumer requirements.

11. Officiating, scoring, and results

Unless PlayQuort expressly provides official tournament management for a particular event, officiating decisions, disqualifications, scoring, rankings, tie-breaks, and final results are determined by the organizer or its appointed officials under the competition rules. PlayQuort may provide technical tools for recording or displaying results but does not guarantee the accuracy of organizer-entered information.

12. Competition incidents and disputes

Players may use PlayQuort's Competition Incident reporting feature for safety or injury concerns, harassment, conduct issues, rules or scoring disputes, officiating concerns, prize issues, or payment/refund concerns. PlayQuort may review reports, preserve relevant Platform records, contact involved parties, apply account restrictions, or refer matters where reasonably necessary or required by law.

PlayQuort's internal review is a Platform-support and redress process. It does not replace formal rights or remedies available through the organizer, payment provider, insurer, government agency, law enforcement, courts, or other appropriate authority.

13. Incident-report privacy

Incident reports may contain personal information and, where a user voluntarily describes an injury or health condition, may contain sensitive personal information. Users should submit only information reasonably necessary for the report. PlayQuort may process and share relevant information with the organizer, venue, affected users, advisers, service providers, insurers, or authorities when reasonably necessary to assess or respond to the report, protect safety, establish or defend legal claims, or comply with applicable law.

14. Minors

If minors are permitted to participate, the organizer is responsible for establishing appropriate age requirements and obtaining or confirming any parental or guardian consent, supervision, or other safeguards required by the circumstances and applicable law. PlayQuort may introduce additional age controls before enabling competitions intended for minors.

15. Platform availability and technical issues

PlayQuort may experience internet, hosting, payment-provider, software, or third-party interruptions. The Platform does not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Where a technical issue materially affects registration, payment, or event records, PlayQuort may investigate, reconcile records, or require the affected action to be repeated.

16. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, PlayQuort is not responsible for losses arising solely from organizer-controlled event operations, venue conditions controlled by an independent venue operator, organizer-entered rules or results, an organizer's failure to deliver a prize, participant misconduct, inherent sports risks, or events outside PlayQuort's reasonable control. Nothing in this section excludes or limits responsibility that applicable law does not permit PlayQuort to exclude or limit, including responsibility arising from PlayQuort's own acts, omissions, or negligence where applicable law imposes such responsibility.

17. Electronic acceptance and audit records

PlayQuort may record the competition session, venue, organizer notice, competition rules or a snapshot/hash of those rules, policy version, acceptance date and time, user ID, IP address, and browser/device information. These records may be retained for event administration, security, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, and evidentiary purposes.

18. Future paid access for organizers

Competition Open Play may be free during beta and may later require an owner plan, subscription, feature entitlement, or upgrade. Any future access requirement applies to use of the Platform feature and does not transfer organizer responsibilities to PlayQuort. PlayQuort may provide notice before materially changing access conditions.

19. Changes to these Competition Terms

These Competition Terms may be updated as Competition Open Play features, payment flows, safety processes, dispute handling, or legal requirements change. A material update may require organizers or participants to accept a new version before creating, publishing, or joining a competition.

20. Governing law and contact

These Competition Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, subject to mandatory consumer, privacy, safety, and other protections under applicable law.
